Steve Hoffpauir

  Steve Hoffpauir was born in the 60s in a little Louisiana town named Lake Arthur that bordered the Mermentau River. He grew up immersed in nature, surrounded by swamps and the river where we lived. Growing up, he would leave at daylight and stay in the swamp till dark, studying and interacting with all my natural surroundings and animals because Steve was always fascinated with how they lived and survived in their environment.

He was also exposed at an early age to woodworking because of his grandfather, a carpenter who carved duck decoys from Cypress and Tupelo wood, so it was only natural that Steve became a residential home contractor in my later years. 

As Steve recently retired, he combined his love of nature and childhood experience with my woodworking skills to create that wonder he felt as a child watching and working alongside his grandfather.

Steve says, “Hopefully, my creations can create some of that feeling for others.” 

Fortunately for Steve & Pink Alligator Gallery, we see these dragonflies taking off.
