NEAL CHAMPAGNE

  Truthfully, Neal Champagne can't give an in-depth account of my artistic prowess. Because, quite frankly, there is none. Well, not much of one, as he says. It's just something that literally fell into his lap about 20 months ago.
 

Through the encouragement and advice of his long-time friend, outsider artist, former teacher, and coach, Shine Sonnier, Neal managed to keep his wits and continue moving in what he believed to be the right direction. All stemming from a self-developed hobby of creating replicas of NFL football helmets made of wood.
 

Once the helmet phase ran its course, Neal concentrated on painting. He didn't seek out any education due to his somewhat foolish pride. He simply used subjects he was passionate about and childhood experiences to fashion his work after. A love of football, old movies, country music, and cowboy life pretty much make up Neal's entire arsenal, except when friends and friends of friends commission personal things.
 

With friends' encouragement, he has a realistic attitude about the future and hopes to be around the artistic world for a while.
